-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 =pod So I keep hearing that "perl sucks because it has syntax" whereas Lisp, the most perfect of perfect programming languages "has no syntax". Everything's just a big old list! I guess this doesn't count as syntax: lang:Common Lisp 'foo :foo ;foo `foo ,foo ,@foo Nope, no syntax to be found! Everything is a list! Lists, lists, lists! And of course, there's only one way to write things: (quote foo) 'foo And: (cons 'foo 'bar) '(foo . bar) Lisp is certinaly simpler (in some ways) than Perl, but it I have syntax. And you can certainly hang yourself with macros. Don't take this to mean I don't like Lisp; I love it. But the fanbois need some different arguments, I think. Maybe we should stop whining about which language is "the best" and just shut the fuck up and write some fucking code for a change. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHV4P+2rw+dVvzZm0RAnivAJ9dt6Jx3qpbdYAJ16Y+nCFTKfg/bQCgnIs1 +PDrltZu/36R4wp4/4I5lcY= =UMOt -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
