-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 =pod Today, I was reading Tim Bray's critique of OOXML. (Here is a link: L) His points are predictable (Sun wants to get along with Microsoft, so why would they let their employees say anything bad about them), but the most interesting part of the article is where he writes this: Anyone who cherry-picks content from this piece without playing by the rule above can count on hearing from an attorney PDQ. (The "rule above" is to include some legal mumbo jumbo about how I'm quoting him out of context, or something.) I want to see if he makes good on his promise to sue me, so I am excerpting the following: For OOXML ... I ... [have] received a huge amount of ... money. I think this quote shows why he is pro-OOXML. Frankly, I think he's as full of hot air on the issue of legality as he is on the issue of OOXML :) In the US, we have the right to except essays for critical review, and I think any attorney (and court) will agree. In other words, hell will freeze over before I hear from his attorney. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFH86KT2rw+dVvzZm0RAnedAJ9qODBG8qZ8UwaIg+RhVm4OStzh/wCgjK6Q x5WU+7+a7BKMKOrYwPUYKGI= =1xST -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
